String! A Celebration of the String Quartet
The brilliant Gildas Quartet is featured in STRING! a fun family/schools concert celebrating the music of the string quartet. Made over March and April 2021 this relaxed performance for children aged 7 – 11 and their schools and families includes a diverse programme of repertoire from Haydn to Jessie Montgomery, Joseph Boulogne Chevalier to Saint-Georges to Dvorak and everything in between! Guaranteed to open eyes and ears to the fabulous, joyful world of the String Quartet.
Following R&D with support from Spitalfields Music this performance premiered at the Nottingham Chamber Music Festival on the 9th and 11th July 2021.
String! was the first UK production shortlisted in the Best Schools Concert category of the prestigious international YAMAwards 2022. More information here
